CHES welcomes our new Principal Hope Malone!

Director Steve Starnes has announced the appointment of Hope Malone as Principal at Church Hill Elementary School. Ms. Hope Malone succeeds Teresa Drinnon, who was recently named Personnel Supervisor for the system. 


Ms. Malone received a Bachelor of Art in Elementary Education from Virginia Intermont College, a Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Tusculum College, and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. Ms. Malone spent 14 years as an elementary classroom teacher in the Bristol City School System (TN), one year as a Reward School Ambassador (, and the past two years working in the First TN Center of Regional Excellence office.


Director Steve Starnes stated “Ms. Malone brings a wealth of knowledge and training on effective instructional practices to the position of principal at Church Hill Elementary. She also brings a unique perspective having served as an educational assistant, teacher, reward school ambassador, and having worked with principals, supervisors, and superintendents to focus on quality instructional practices.


Ms. Malone stated, “I am very honored and delighted to have this opportunity to work for such a great school district and to support and lead the faculty and staff at Church Hill Elementary. I am also very excited about getting to know all the students, their parents and community members. Along with the teachers and staff, I will work very hard to continue the legacy of success established at Church Hill Elementary and cannot wait to get started."
