Summer Learning Activity: Write or draw about your summer.


Parents and students, with the passage of TN HB 932/SB 897, Hawkins County Schools will comply with this state law and prohibit use of wireless communication devices during the instructional day at all campuses. Please be aware that students may have their devices at school but may not use them while on campus during instructional time. Students who use their devices to monitor medical conditions will be allowed access to their devices as specified in their health plans. Current policy 6.312 remains intact and in alignment with the new law, but unlike last school year, per this new law, students will not be allowed access to phones at lunch or at any other time during the instructional day (7:45-2:45 at middle and high schools, and 8:00-3:00 all other grades.) In the event of an emergency, students may access their devices as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and for your support in keeping our campuses safe and focused on instruction. Wireless communication devices include, but are not limited to personal: Cell phones Tablets Laptops Gaming Devices Ear buds Smart watches Smart glasses etc.

Summer Learning Activity: Play School!


HCS Books on Wheels has been out and about all summer! If you haven’t had a chance to visit, check the website for future times and locations!


A bulk food bag will be available to parents and guardians of children ages 0 to 18, from 3pm to 5pm on Thursday, June 19th , at Joseph Rogers Primary and at Volunteer High School’s library entrance. Distribution will be on first come, first served basis until gone. Please do not arrive before 2:45pm due to summer school dismissal traffic. This is the final summer distribution.
