Here are a few pictures from our College and Career Week activities today. Students participated in a college facts scavenger hunt during recess and got some college stickers, pens, etc. for finding all the clues. A few brave fifth grade volunteers presented to the entire student body about a career they are interested in.

Bus drivers are often the first and last school representative a student sees each day. Their role is more than transportation—it’s about care, consistency, and connection. We’re proud to celebrate them in a powerful and meaningful way. Big shout out and huge thanks to the HCS Bus Drivers – our dedicated warriors of the road!!

For 2025-26, Hawkins County Schools will focus on positive attendance and its impact on student success, now and in the future. We want to partner with you to ensure your child is in school, learning what they need to thrive as adults. Chronically Absent is 10% or more days per school year (excused or unexcused). At 5 or more unexcused absences a meeting with school staff will be scheduled. Students have 5 days to turn in parent and doctor notes. Each student may have 6 parent notes and 10 doctor notes per year. Students with 10 unexcused absences in a row or a total of 15 unexcused absences will lose their driving privileges.
